Discover Sailing

What to wear
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and footwear that you don’t mind getting wet (just in case!). If the weather isn’t very warm a windproof coat would be beneficial. A buoyancy aid or lifejacket will be provided by the venue.
On the day
Don’t worry if you’ve not been sailing before! You’ll be taken out on the water with a qualified instructor or an experienced sailor.
Minimum age
8 Years Old. All children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an Adult at all times.
Disabled sailors
Sailing Is a fantastic activity for people of all abilities. Look out for Sailability ‘Discover Sailing’ Venues or get directly in touch with the club or centre to ask accessibility. Visit RYA Sailability for more information about sailing disabled people.
More information
There will be changing facilities on site. Sun hat and sun scream are also important. You will be able to purchase refreshments on site (tea, coffee, cakes etc) in addition to your provided lunch. There security lockers available requiring a £1 coin. Please get in contact so we can answer any further questions you may have.
